Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner

Hello Princesses,

Today I'm going to be talking about the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner! This toner has had quite a lot of hype lately and I previously tried the 100ml size. I liked it enough to purchase it a second time as it's not actually too expensive to get to New Zealand (I got mine for about $15USD from Testerkorea). A few people were curious about this toner after I used it in my "Get Unready With Me" so I thought that I should review it!

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner is an ingenious, intensely hydrating formula designed to deliver nutrient-filled moisture to skin. Water is not present here as 91.3% of this toner is milk vecht root extract, full of skin-beneficial betaine and minerals. With the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, nutrient-boosting properties of the root extract, this gel-type toner quickly absorbs to hydrate and strengthen skin. Always fragrance, dye and irritant free.

This toner has really elegant, functional packaging. The 200ml version comes with a small squeeze top, whereas the 100ml version came with a shaker top which I disliked. The essence itself is clear in colour, and has a thicker gel like consistency than most toners do. It's not as thick as a real gel, but it's definitely not super runny. I find that it's slightly scented, but not overwhelming or artificial.

This toner is very easy to apply, it has a slight silicone feeling and spreads out on my skin easily. I don't need to use too much to cover my entire face, so I quite like doing two or three lighter layers to build up the hydration. I find that it provides light hydration, but nothing else that is tangible. The product description claims that it will strengthen the skin, but it is very difficult to measure so I can't comment on that aspect really. It does make my skin feel very soft and hydrated though!

Final Thoughts

I quite enjoy using this toner, though I don't particularly buy into the hype. It hydrates nicely, it's fairly inexpensive and doesn't irritate my skin. It does feel slightly thicker than my normal toners and does make my skin feel really lovely and soft so it is really pleasant to use. I'll definitely be continuing to use this toner (unless I find something more exciting!) because I do like it, I just don't see the amazing results that some Princesses do.

You can purchase the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner from Testerkorea for $16USD.
